Lacking any other diversions, I've come to the sad point where I have to rely on the community for entertainment. Even Sister Serra's been quiet - I'd like to shake the hand of whoever managed to make that happen. I have an announcement for the community...which will likely amuse the majority of you.

I'm here to inform you all that our young companion Shinji Matou - or however you may refer to him - has taken a...vacation of sorts, thanks to a little handiwork from yours truly.  I don't know if he will necessarily be able to come onto the community in the next few weeks.  But the ladies of this community may rest assured, he will be unable to offend them during that time.

As they exited the restaurant, Phoenix fell in line behind Edgeworth, dreading everything from the walk to the parking complex to the ride in the car and especially the ultimate arrival at Edgeworth’s apartment. He had somehow managed to convince the other man to share a glass of wine with him before the night was over—one last celebratory gesture for an occasion Edgeworth seemed to care little for. Unbeknownst to Edgeworth, though, a throng of people were expectantly waiting for him there, standing in his living room, sitting on his couches, possibly eating his food… using his facilities…

Stomach twisted in knots, Phoenix tried very hard to focus on the bright side: dinner had been pleasant enough and thankfully affordable; despite knowing very little about sushi, he had managed to locate a restaurant that was both ‘decent’ (according to Edgeworth’s standards) and reasonably priced (according to Phoenix’s), and while their encounters were never perfect, Edgeworth had at least seemed to be enjoying himself. …As much as he ever allowed himself to, anyway.

…Which just made the whole thing that much worse.

Phoenix sighed, and for the umpteenth time that night, he wondered how the hell he had let Larry talk him into this.

As you may or may not have noticed, I made a post for Edgeworth's birthday party in the events comm! I meant to get it up earlier since the family unit virus is happening on the 26th, but I am made of fail today and didn't get it done quickly enough. ;-;

Obviously it's post-dated to tomorrow at 6PM. It's divided into two threads--before and after--just so I can keep things organized. I hope it doesn't confuse anybody!

[Edit] Oh yeah. I wanted to note: this is really informal, so don't worry about which thread you post to first (before or after); all I ask is that you wait for Tif to post in the after thread. Edgeworth needs a chance to arrive, after all!

The apartment foyer was decorated (although one could say ‘cluttered,’ depending how one looked at it) with balloons floating freely, streamers looping across the ceiling, and a giant banner along the top of the living room entryway that read: HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDGEY. The color scheme for the night was, naturally, magenta—or possibly pink, as it was all Greek to Larry—with a splash of gold here and there to offset the amount of magenta in the living room (which turned out to be a good call. Larry didn’t fancy himself an artist for no reason, after all).

As people were instructed by Larry upon first entering, a corner of the foyer was designated for gifts. Already a few, small ones were set atop the poor hall tree, which—depending on how many people brought gifts—would likely be covered in boxes before the night was through.

In the living room the décor was somewhat traditional, reminiscent of a study, perhaps. The couch and curtains were in shades of magenta with light, oak accents. The traditional motif carried over into the office, although the colors were a bit less gaudy, with greens and yellows dominating the room.

Food was laid out on the dining room table: a healthy spread of catered sandwiches, fruit, salad, and chips waiting to be torn into. The refrigerator was fully stocked with sodas, beer, and cheap wine, along with several bottles of a more expensive vintage raided from Edgeworth's collection. The liquor cabinet and kitchen also contained everything one might need for making mixed drinks, if anyone was so inclined. ‘Classic rock’ (classic, in this case, meaning bands from the late eighties and early nineties—you are in the year 2019, after all) played loudly in the background, providing the finishing touch on the festive atmosphere that pervaded the apartment.

If there was one thing Larry Butz knew, it was how to throw a party.
